Personal Development
Curriculum Intent – Personal Development
“Studying the world around us, our place in it and how we can effect change.”
The intent of the Personal Development curriculum is for all students to understand the formal and informal societal structures and processes (at local, national and international levels) that influence their lives. Developing this understanding will enable them to have agency in decision-making and life-choices, allowing them to become active, independent and responsible citizens in the modern world.
Personal Development complements the curriculum delivery in PSHE and Talk-For-Learning, and connects to themes covered in tutor times and assemblies, extending those to connect students’ thinking and actions to the wider world around us.
