DT Curriculum Intent

Our aim is to create the workforce of the future by developing business critical skills in problem-solving, innovation and team-work. Pupils develop designing, making and problem solving skills, learn about, materials and textiles technology. 

In Design and Technology students will develop an understanding of how DT can be utilised in a wide range of careers, whist developing independence and confidence across all material areas. 

At Key Stage 3 students are assessed on Technical Knowledge, Designing, Making and Evaluating, as outlined in the National Curriculum. We want our students to be able to complete a wide variety of complex tasks and be able to confidently apply their learning in differing contexts.
